Reselling Newsgroup Service
*This is an advanced topic and should only
be considered by those who are familiar with
reselling practices, understand webhosting,
can accept payment online, etc. *
An option for anyone (especially ISPs) is to
offer Usenet access to their existing customer
base. The costs associated with running Usenet
servers are out of reach for many Internet providers
and would rather outsource Usenet than try to
provide in-house. This is where reselling Usenet
newsgroup services can be attractive.
It usually works like this: a newsgroup service
provider will give the reseller access to both
a web-based control panel and API (Application
Programming Interface) so the reseller can create
Usenet accounts for their users (either manually
or automatically). The reseller's customers
then access the external news servers as if
the servers were owned by the reseller. The
reseller is billed only for those accounts created
by the reseller. The newsgroup service provider
does not contact the reseller's customers; all
billing/support/customer service is handled
directly by the reseller.
The allows the reseller to create an additional
stream of recurring revenue from their customer
base; and provide a competitive service as well.
The newsgroup service provider at Newsgroups-download.com
offers reselling packages. Contact them for
more information.
